This is a beautiful very long weaving! According to the note attached woven for a sc geese bench. These were benches but actually also served as “housing” for the geese! People and their animals lived much more closely than we can imagine today. The furniture, the benches, are scarce. The note says “Cover for a geese bench, woven by Signe Åkesson before 1835.”
