Chuval

A very early Saryk chuval with obvious influence from the Salor tribe. This design is also known in Tekke weavings, but this chuval has features that outrule Tekke, next to the knots (not open right…) I must admit I never learned about symmetrical vs asymmetrical knots, nor depressed or nondepressed warps… The white is partly cotton… I trust the dealer, but this tech info, or lack thereof, caused a discussion when I posted it on facebook. Anyway, colours are beautiful and saturated, just a few minor flaws as the images show. And seller dating, “1850 or earlier” might help you decide if you like it or not!
